Why the name? Why 'MetaBase'?
From MetaBase
Meta (from the Greek: μετά = "after", "beyond", "with"), is a prefix used to indicate a concept which is an abstraction from another concept.
The name 'MetaBase' is a composite of 'MetaX' and 'DataBase', to describe a database that describes databases. Just as the MetaOme is the collection of all XOmics, the MetaBase aims to be a collection of databases. Equivalently, MetaData is data about data.
