[edit] Resource Description

The basic component of nervous systems is the neuron. There are thousands of neuronal types that each have distinct morphology, connectivity, and molecular expression profile. This project is an attempt to catalog the "neurome".

[edit] Database

One component of NeuronBank is the database. This is a web-based tool that is still under development. The neurons and synaptic connections for any species can be represented in the database. It is starting off with simple molluscan nervous systems, such as Tritonia diomedea. Only curators can make changes to this database.

[edit] Wiki

The NeuronBank wiki allows all registered users to enter information about neurons and synapses.
