An NIH NIAID Bioinformatics Resource Center for comparative analysis of microbial pathogens, with a particular emphasis on biodefense related pathogens.
The NMPDR focuses on the following five groups of pathogens in particular:
- Campylobacter
- Listeria
- Streptococcus
- Staphylococcus
- Vibrio
However, the NMPDR also integrates data from many other genomes and resources, to provide a comprehensive comparative genomics portal.

The NMPDR is a collaborative project between members of the FIG, Argonne National Laboratory, The University of Chicago, and The University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.
The database has been developed with help from many people around the world.
