The Molecular and Cellular Biology WikiProject (WP:MCB) aims to better organize information in articles related to molecular and cell biology on Wikipedia.

[edit] Resource description

A major problem facing biology is organizing the vast amount of information that has been and continues to be collected about genomes, proteomes and cell function. A primary goal of the WP:MCB project is to collect and organize the totality of this information and make it accessible to researchers and laypeople alike by providing an entry point to the wealth of biological data that is currently hidden in obscure databases and journal articles.

From the project portal [1]:

Molecular biology is the study of biology at the molecular level. The field overlaps with other areas of biology and chemistry, particularly genetics and biochemistry. Cell biology studies the properties of cells including their physiological properties, their structure, the organelles they contain, interactions with their environment, their life cycle, division and death. Molecular and cellular biology are interrelated, since most of the properties and functions of a cell can be described at the molecular level.

[edit] Authors
