Database Description

Ensembl is a joint project between EMBL - EBI (http://www.ebi.ac.uk) and the Sanger Institute (http://www.sanger.ac.uk) to develop a software system which produces and maintains automatic annotation on metazoan genomes. Ensembl is primarily funded by the Wellcome Trust (http://www.wellcome.ac.uk/). This site provides free access to all the data and software from the Ensembl project.
